Math, Data &
Computing
Next to Technology & Realisation I have the most experience in Math, Data & Computing. In my opinion it also works very closely with the T&R area as data gathering and computing goes closely with the technology that can perceive and work with the data.
Sensors
In my first year I did the course Sensors for Physiology, which was the first course to work with real-time data from sensors. The course was quite challenging, but it did give me a first direction with data and how it could be used in a design. The possibilities and strength of a design greatly improve when it is complemented with data.
Analysis
In terms of statistics I learned the basics through Data Analytics and Engineers and then further elaborated on that in the course Making Sense of Sensors. Unfortunately due to the nature of most courses significance is not something that could really be strived towards because of a limited amount of time and participants, however these courses still taught me to use and interpret the data for research purposes.
Artificial
Intelligence
The biggest project I did with data was developing an AI during my internship. Since nobody knew anything about the field of AI I had to research and develop how the technology works and could be used for the company. It was a truly challenging experience, however in the end I was able to create a model that could tell differences between different items. Unfortunately this couldn’t be further developed due to high costs.
